A Collect for the Vigil of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
| ANT. Crastina die in ascensu diluculi egredietur stella ex Jacob divini luminis nuntia. | ANT. Tomorrow at the approach of daybreak, a star shall come forth from Jacob, a messenger of the Divine Light. |
| ℣. Crastina die subito apparuerit aurora. ℟. Et stella ex Jacob orietur. |
℣. Tomorrow the dawn shall suddenly appear. ℟. And a star shall rise from Jacob. |
| Oremus. Præsta, quæsumus, omnipotens Deus, ut qui Nativitatem Beatissimæ Virginis Mariæ expectando prævenimus, cœlestibus donis ad tantam solemnitatem rite celebrandam præveniri mereamur. Per Christum Dominum Nostrum. Amen. |
Let us pray. Grant, we beseech Thee, Almighty God, that we who expectantly prepare for the Nativity of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary may merit to be prepared by heavenly gifts to celebrate rightly so great a solemnity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. |
