Act of Reparation in Advent

Icon_second_comingLaudetur sacrosanctum et augustissimum Sacramentum in aeternum.

My God and my Saviour, Jesus, true God and true Man, worthy Victim of the Most High, Living Bread, and Wellspring of Eternal Life, I adore thee present in the divine Sacrament of the Altar, with all my heart, desiring to make reparation for the indifference, irreverence, and profanations wrought against thee in this ineffable Mystery.

Prostrate before thy most holy majesty, I adore thee eternally begotten of the Father « in the brightness of the saints: from the womb before the day star » (Psalm 109:3).

I adore thee, Eternal Word to whom the Father speaks, saying,  « Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee » (Psalm 2:7).

I adore thee, Priest and Victim, in the mystery of thy Incarnation, who, when coming into the world, didst say: « Sacrifice and oblation thou wouldest not: but a body thou hast fitted to me; Behold, I come to do thy will, O God » (Hebrews 10: 5,9).

I adore thee who, for nine months, didst hide Thyself beneath thy Mother’s most pure Heart, offering Thyself to the Father  in the sanctuary of her virginal womb.

I adore thee in the mystery of thy Eucharistic silence, where Thou remainest hidden beneath the sacramental veils.

I adore thee in the mystery of thy glorious advent when Thou shalt « come upon the clouds and every eye shall see Thee, and they also that pierced Thee » (Apocalypse 1:7).

I adore thee for those who have never adored thee, and for those who will never know the happiness of praising thee, and I open my heart to the merciful love which Thou didst come into the world to communicate to poor sinners.

And to sanctify this adoration of mine and make it more pleasing to thee, O my Saviour, I unite it to the sacrifice of praise offered by thy Holy Catholic Church « from the rising of the sun even to the going down of the same » (Malachias 1:11). Look Thou to my intentions more than to my words: I desire to utter all that the Holy Spirit has ever inspired thy Most Holy Mother and thy Saints to say to thee; all that Thou sayest to thy Father in this Sacrament, where Thou offerest Thyself to Him in a perpetual holocaust; and all that Thou sayest to Him in the silence of His bosom where Thou art begotten from all eternity, consubstantial with the Father and with the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.  Amen.
