ENTRANCE ANTIPHON
MR
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him
who publishes peace, who announces good,
who preaches salvation (Is 52:7).
COLLECT
Lord God, who chose Saint Luke
to reveal the mystery of your special love for the poor
by preaching and by writing,
grant, that those who, even now, glory in your name,
may continue to be of one heart and one mind,
and that all nations may come to see your salvation.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, forever and ever.

GENERAL INTERCESSIONS
That the Church in East and West may preach the Gospel of mercy,
inviting all men and women to fix their gaze upon the Face of Christ,
so that the whole world may be filled with the praise of God,
to the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
That all world leaders of good will
may be enlightened by the Dayspring that visits us from on high,
and guides us into the way of peace,
to the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
That the lowly and the poor, the sick, the elderly,
and those forgotten and scorned,
may find in the Gospel of Saint Luke
a message of enduring mercy, of comfort, and of hope,
to the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
That women may find in Saint Luke an advocate and friend;
that physicians may find in him an intercessor and protector;
that artists may find in him a model and inspiration;
that poets may find in him words for the praise of God
and the healing of the human heart,
to the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
That we who have assembled for the hearing of the Gospel
and the Breaking of the Bread
may, like the disciples on the road to Emmaus,
know the fire that burns in every heart touched by the Word,
and the joy that is the sign of the risen Christ in our midst,
to the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
COLLECT AT THE GENERAL INTERCESSIONS
Almighty and ever-living God,
who, by the grace of the Holy Spirit,
called Luke the physician
to be an evangelist and physician of the soul,
and who endow your Church
with the same love and power to heal
through the medicine of the Gospel,
mercifull grant that, together with the Blessed Virgin Mary,
and the poor of every generation,
we may be filled with good things
and rejoice to magnify your name.
Through Christ our Lord.
OFFERTORY ANTIPHON
GR
Your friends, O God, are exceedingly honourable;
their principality is exceedingly strengthened (Ps 138:17).
PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS
Through your heavenly gifts,
O Lord, grant that we may serve you with liberty of mind,
so that the offerings we bring forth on this feast of Saint Luke
may be to us both healing and glory.
Through Christ our Lord.
PREFACE
(Ambrosian Missal, trans. Alan Griffiths)
It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
through Christ our Lord.
You willed that the mystery of Christ your Son
should be made known to us through the Scriptures,
the work of those you enlightened by the Holy Spirit.
These have entrusted to your Church
the words and acts of the Saviour
in writings that will endure
to be a fertile seed for all generations
bearing rich fruit to your praise and glory.
With these holy Gospels to inspire us
we join the choirs of angels and saints
in this, their joyful hymn of praise:
COMMUNION ANTIPHON
MR
The Lord sent forth his disciples
who announced in the cities:
The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you (cf. Lk 10:1, 9).
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God,
that what we have received from your holy altar,
may sanctify us and make us strong
in the faith of the Gospel which Saint Luke preached.
Through Christ our Lord.
