Mass of Saint Bruno, Priest

The Collect formerly used for the feast of Saint Bruno breathes the spirit of compunction that animates all who seek the Face of God. I give it here for that reason:
May the prayers of Thy holy confessor Bruno
come to our aid, we pray Thee, Lord;
so that we who have grievously offended Thy majesty
by our transgressions
may obtain pardon through his merits and intercession.
ENTRANCE ANTIPHON

Of you my heart has spoken: “Seek his face.”
It is your face, O Lord, that I seek;
hide not your face from me.
V. The Lord is my light and my salvation,
whom shall I fear? (Ps 26:8–9, 1)
COLLECT
O God who called Saint Bruno
to serve you in solitude,
grant, through his intercession,
that, amidst the changes of this world,
we may seek you always, and with all our heart.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, forever and ever.

GENERAL INTERCESSIONS
That, following the example of Saint Bruno
and the monastic family he founded,
the Church may bear witness to the Cross of Christ,
planted in the heart of a restless and changing world
as the sign of redeeming love, unchanging and ever new,
to the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
That all world leaders of good will
may open their hearts to the needs
of the poor, the vulnerable, the elderly, and the oppressed,

That, helped by the Blessed Virgin Mary,
those who are alone in life may discover in their solitude
an opportunity to seek the face of God
and to experience intimacy with him,

That the sons and daughters of Saint Bruno,
together with all who have heard a call to solitude,

That it may be given us to imitate the virtues of Saint Bruno,
especially his goodness,
his obedience to the Pope,

Almighty and ever-living God,
who called Saint Bruno into the solitude of the desert,
deign, we beseech you,

that, together with God-seeking men of every age,
we may rejoice in the revelation of your love,

PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS
Most merciful God,
who, in Saint Bruno,
deigned to make an end of the old self
and to create a new self according to your own desire,
mercifully grant
that we also, renewed in like manner,
may offer this, the acceptable sacrifice of our atonement.

PREFACE
It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
always, here and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
through Christ our Lord.
In response to the call of Christ,
Saint Bruno lived out the mystery of salvation
alone and in the ceaseless prayer of the desert.
By your gift of grace,
other lovers of solitude came to follow his example,
and, like him, chose to hide themselves far from the world
to seek God in purity of heart
for the sake of the Body of Christ, the Church.
For this gift of your benevolence,
united to the Angels and Saints,
to you we lift our voices
and together sing the ceaseless hymn of your glory:

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
Almighty God,
who in these mysteries
communicate to us the strength of your Spirit,
grant that, by following the example of Saint Bruno,
we may learn to seek you above all things
so as to carry within us
the image of Christ crucified and risen.
Who lives and reigns forever and ever.
