Calkins proposed that I include in it a phrase to express the singular place of total consecration to Our Lady in the life of soon\u2013t0\u2013be Saint John Paul II. Here, then, is the prayer with the phrase, &#8220;through total consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Holy Father John Paul,<br \/>\nbe a father to my soul;<br \/>\npray for me,<br \/>\nprotect me,<br \/>\ninstruct me,<br \/>\nand guide me in the way of holiness,<br \/>\nthrough total consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary.<br \/>\nObtain for me the gift of perfect chastity,<br \/>\nburning love for the Eucharist,<br \/>\ntotal dedication to Christ and to the Church,<br \/>\nand the grace to live, always and everywhere,<br \/>\nin a manner worthy<br \/>\nof the priesthood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.<br \/>\nAmen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This little prayer has been part of my life since 2005.\u00a0 My good friend Monsignor Arthur B.
