\nThis morning, following the blessing of the statue of Jesus King of Love at the end of Holy Mass, we made the following Act of Consecration:
\nO JESUS, KING OF LOVE,
\nWITH TRUST IN THY MERCIFUL GOODNESS,<\/strong>
\nwe consecrate ourselves to Thee;
\nand offer to Thy Sacred Heart
\nall that we have received from Thee:
\nour life itself,
\nour strength, and our talents,
\nour desires, our works, and our humble efforts.
\nAt the same time we offer Thee
\nour weaknesses and our inconsistencies,
\nour fears, our failures, and even our sins,
\nfor there is nothing of ours
\nthat Thy merciful love cannot redeem, and heal,
\nrestore, and turn to Thy Father’s glory.
\nThou hast come to us in Thy image,
\nand so we come to Thee
\nto offer Thee what is already Thine:
\nthe church built to Thy glory sixty years ago,
\nthis house and all the constructions adjacent to it,
\nthe entire property of Silverstream,
\nits fields, its water, its woodlands,
\nand all Thy creatures therein.
\nBy the light of Thy Eucharistic Face
\nand the fire of Thy Eucharistic Heart:
\nmake Silverstream entirely Thine:
\na little kingdom where Thy Love holds sway,
\nand in which all are subject to Thee.
\nO Jesus, King of Love,
\nmake this monastery a hospital for the healing of sick souls,
\na safe refuge for fearful and anxious souls,
\na welcoming home for poor and restless souls.
\nHere, O King of Love,
\nlet sinners be converted;
\nhere, let the lukewarm be set ablaze;
\nhere, reveal to Thy friends the secrets of Thy Sacred Heart.
\nHere, let souls receive the gifts of Thy Divine Friendship:
\nperseverance in prayer, peace of mind, and purity of heart.
\nHere, make Thy servants joyful in a shining chastity,
\nand ardent in an unassailable purity.
\nHere, raise up those who have fallen,
\ngive light to those who are in darkness,
\ngive courage to those beset by fear.
\nO King of Love,
\nso establish the sovereign rule of Thy Heart in this monastery and over it,
\nthat it will become a garden enclosed,
\na sanctuary of silence and of peace,
\na place of tranquil order, where beauty is at home.
\nCast out from this place the powers of darkness,
\nthe enemies of our souls,
\nthe cruel tempters of Thine anointed,
\nand the bodiless persecutors of those who would live for Thee alone.
\nImpart to all who live here,
\nor labour here,
\nor visit here,
\nor in any way participate in this monastery’s growth,
\na share in the incomparable grace of spiritual childhood,
\nand an unfailing light along the path of confidence
\nand abandonment to Thy merciful love.
\nO Jesus, King of Love,
\nmeek and humble of heart,
\nrule over this, Thy little kingdom;
\nmake all herein the faithful subjects of Thy Love,
\nthe adorers of Thy Eucharistic Face,
\nand the friends of Thy Eucharistic Heart.
\nHaving lived in Thine intimacy here below,
\nvouchsafe that we may pass from this life
\nto the glory of heaven,
\nthere to praise Thy merciful goodness
\nin the company of Thy Immaculate Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary,
\nof Saint Joseph, Saint John, Thy Beloved Disciple,
\nSaint Benedict, Saint Th\u00e9r\u00e8se, Blessed Abbot Marmion,
\nThy servant Mother Yvonne-Aim\u00e9e,
\nthe Holy Angels, and all Thine elect,
\nforever, and unto the ages of ages.
