The mercies of the Lord I will sing forever:<br \/>\nto generation and generation.<br \/>\nV.  Glory be to the Father.<br \/>\n<strong>Collect<\/strong><br \/>\nAlmighty, everlasting God,<br \/>\nby whose ordinance our Saviour took flesh<br \/>\nand suffered crucifixion,<br \/>\nso that mankind might imitate the example of His humility;<br \/>\ngraciously grant,<br \/>\nthat with the lesson of His patience before us,<br \/>\nwe who solemnly commemorate His Passion<br \/>\nmay be found worthy to share in His resurrection.<br \/>\nThrough the same.<br \/>\n<strong>From the Epistle<\/strong> (Zacharias 12:10-11; 13; 6-7)<br \/>\nIn that day there shall be a great lamentation in Jerusalem,<br \/>\nand it shall be said:<br \/>\nWhat are these wounds in the midst of Thy hands?<br \/>\nAnd He shall say:<br \/>\nWith these was I wounded in the house of them that loved me.<br \/>\n<strong>Gradual<\/strong> (Ps 68:21-22)<br \/>\nMy heart hath expected reproach and misery:<br \/>\nand I looked for one that would grieve together with Me,<br \/>\nand there was none:<br \/>\nI sought one that would comfort Me and I found none.<br \/>\nV.  They gave me gall for my food,<br \/>\nand in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.<br \/>\n<strong>Tract<\/strong> (Is 53:4-5)<br \/>\nSurely He hath borne our infirmities,<br \/>\nand carried our sorrows.<br \/>\nV.
