I take these requests seriously. They can, however, become overwhelming at times. I have, however, found a solution. I entrust them all to Our Blessed Lady. She is our Mother of Good Counsel, ever ready to guide us into the best way of interceding, the wisest way of intervening, the purest way of loving. She is also our Mother of Perpetual Help; that means that she is available everywhere and all the time. She is never far from us, never otherwise occupied. The other evening as I was praying for the many intentions recommended to me, this prayer rose in my heart. I&#8217; happy to share it with my readers.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>O Mother of Good Counsel,<br \/>\nMother of Perpetual Help,<br \/>\nI turn with confidence to thy maternal Heart,<br \/>\nand I renew my total and irrevocable consecration to thee.<br \/>\nI am all thine, Most Holy Mary,<br \/>\nand all that I have is thine.<br \/>\nI give thee my past with its burdens.<br \/>\nI give thee this present moment with its anxieties and fears.<br \/>\nI give thee my future and all that it holds.<br \/>\nThere is no part of my life that is not open to thee,<br \/>\nno place so secret, or so darkened by sin<br \/>\nthat thy presence and thy influence<br \/>\nare not wholly and ardently desired there.<br \/>\nI want to be completely transparent with thee,<br \/>\nutterly simple, guileless, and childlike.<br \/>\nThou knowest, O Mother,<br \/>\nall my preoccupations,<br \/>\nall my intentions,<br \/>\nand all those recommended to my prayer.<br \/>\nTake them, I beseech thee, to thy Immaculate Heart<br \/>\nand, as my Advocate, my all-powerful intercessor, and my Mediatrix,<br \/>\npresent them to thy Son.<br \/>\nSeeing them presented by thee<br \/>\nand held in thy maternal Heart,<br \/>\nthere is nothing that He will not do<br \/>\nto give to each intention the one response<br \/>\nworthy of the infinite mercy and love of His Sacred Heart.<br \/>\nPraying in this way, I can be at rest,<br \/>\nfor thou art my Mother,<br \/>\nand all that I entrust to thee will be,<br \/>\nI am sure,<br \/>\nreceived, and considered, and cared for<br \/>\nwith a Mother&#8217;s love.<br \/>\nAmen.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Friends, readers of Vultus Christi, and others often write me asking for intercessory prayer for a particular intention, for the resolution of a crisis, or for the healing of an affliction of soul or body.
