Here is another version of one of the novena prayers to Saint Joseph, suitable for everyone:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saint Joseph,<br \/>\nI take you this day as my advocate and defender,<br \/>\nmy counselor and my friend.<br \/>\nOpen your heart to me<br \/>\nas you opened your home to the Virgin Mother<br \/>\nin her hour of need.<br \/>\nProtect my vocation<br \/>\nas you protected the life of the Infant Christ<br \/>\nthreatened by cruel Herod.<br \/>\nIn darkness bring me light;<br \/>\nin weakness, strength,<br \/>\nand in fear the peace that passes understanding.<br \/>\nFor the sake of the tender love that bound you<br \/>\nto the Virgin Mary and the Infant Christ,<br \/>\nbe for me, Saint Joseph, a constant intercessor<br \/>\nand a shield against every danger of body, mind, and soul<br \/>\nso that, in spite of my weaknesses and sins,<br \/>\nmy life here may bring glory to Christ<br \/>\nand serve to increase the beauty of holiness<br \/>\nin his bride the Church.<br \/>\nAmen.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We began praying the novena to Saint Joseph this evening after Compline.
