I find it practical to use my Seven Dolours Rosary, with its &#8220;seven times seven&#8221; series of beads for this persevering invocation of the Holy Ghost through Mary.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Annunciation<\/span>, the \u201cProto-Pentecost\u201d in which the Virgin is overshadowed by the Holy Ghost (cf. Lk 1:35). Ask for the Gift of Wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>2. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Visitation<\/span> in which Elizabeth, \u201cfilled with the Holy Ghost\u201d (Lk 1:42), greets the Mother of her Lord. Ask for the Gift of Understanding.<\/p>\n<p>3. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Baptism of Jesus<\/span>, at which the Holy Ghost descended upon him \u201cin bodily form, as a dove\u201d (Lk 3:22). Ask for the Gift of Counsel.<\/p>\n<p>4. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Wedding Feast at Cana<\/span> (Jn 2:1-11) at which, in response to the intervention of his Mother, Jesus provides wine in abundance prefiguring the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. Ask for the Gift of Fortitude.<\/p>\n<p>5. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Death of Jesus Crucified<\/span> who, \u201cbowing his head, handed over his spirit\u201d (Jn 19:30). Ask for the Gift of Knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>6. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Resurrection of Jesus<\/span> who, appearing to the disciples \u201con the evening of that day, the first day of the week\u201d (Jn 20:19), \u201cbreathed on them, and said to them, &#8216;Receive the Holy Ghost\u2019\u201d (Jn 20:22). Ask for the Gift of Piety.<\/p>\n<p>7. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Descent of the Holy Ghost<\/span> \u201cwhen the day of Pentecost had come\u201d (Ac 2:1).
