The proper texts of the Mass are found in the <em>Collectio Missarum de Beata Maria Virgine<\/em> or in the English translation of it, entitled <em>Collection of Masses of the Blessed Virgin Mary<\/em>.<br \/>\nHere is the oration I composed to conclude the General Intercessions, and my own translation of the splendid Preface of this Mass.  The painting of the Risen Jesus appearing to His Blessed Mother is by Giovanni Francesco Guercino (1599-1666).<br \/>\n<strong>Collect at the General Intercessions<\/strong><br \/>\nAlmighty and ever-living God,<br \/>\nwho, during the great and silent sabbath<br \/>\nwhen your Son slept in the tomb,<br \/>\nlooked upon the flame of faith and hope<br \/>\nthat burned, for the sake of the whole Church,<br \/>\nin the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary,<br \/>\ngrant us, we beseech you,<br \/>\nso to follow her in faith and in hope in this life<br \/>\nas to share her joy eternally in heaven.<br \/>\nThrough Christ our Lord.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nPreface<\/strong><br \/>\nTruly it is right and just, our duty and our salvation,<br \/>\nalways and everywhere to give you thanks,<br \/>\nLord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God.<br \/>\nAt the resurrection of your Christ<br \/>\nyou filled the blessed Virgin with joy beyond all telling<br \/>\nand wonderfully extolled her faith.<br \/>\nIn the strength of that faith<br \/>\nshe waited for that Day of Light and of Life<br \/>\nwhen the night of death would be ended,<br \/>\nthe whole world would exult,<br \/>\nand the Church at her dawn would tremble with joy<br \/>\nin seeing again her deathless Lord.<br \/>\nThrough him the choirs of Angels adore your majesty,<br \/>\nas in eternity they rejoice before your face.<br \/>\nLet our voices, we pray you, be joined to theirs,<br \/>\nin this their joyful hymn:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In how many places will the Mass of Beata Maria in Resurrectione Domini be celebrated tomorrow?
