I wrote this prayer of consecration seven years ago (2007) while supplying for a fortnight as chaplain to the Benedictines of Perpetual Adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament at the Monastery of Notre-Dame d’Orient in the Av\u00e9yron in France. In these days leading up to the feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8th), one may find this prayer of consecration a suitable way of entrusting souls in difficulty to the Our Lady’s maternal Heart. This consecration, especially when prayed by a priest before an image of the Immaculate Mother of God, is appropriate for the unbinding and healing of situations marked by sin and moral suffering. <\/small><\/em><\/p>\n

The Immaculate Virgin Mary is ever-ready to intervene in the lives of her children. She is the Mother of Mercy, the Consoler of the Afflicted, the Health of the Sick, and the Mediatrix of All Graces. I thank the Mother of God for her interventions in the lives of those whom I have entrusted to her care, and magnify with her the Most Holy Trinity. Here is the prayer, first in my English translation, and then in the original French text.<\/small><\/em><\/p>\n

Efficacious Consecration of Persons
\nto the Pierced and Immaculate Heart of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In the name of the Father, + and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.<\/p>\n

Most holy Virgin Mary.
\n— you whom the FATHER, from the first instant of your conception, preserved
\nfrom all evil and from the least shadow of sin,
\n— you whom the Precious Blood of JESUS rendered immaculate and all-beautiful, even before that same Blood was formed in your virginal womb and poured out upon the altar of the Cross,
\n— you whom the HOLY SPIRIT filled full with every grace in view of the glorious motherhood of the Son of God for which you were created,
\n— you crush the head of the ancient serpent,
\nand you alone overcome the evil that is in us and around us.<\/p>\n

To you, O Mary,
\nyour Son has entrusted the liberation of souls enchained by sin,
\nthe healing of wounded souls,
\nand the sanctification of souls who have suffered evil’s worst ravages.
\nYou have only to open your immaculate hands over them,
\nand they are shot through with the rays of your purity.
\nThrough you, enters the light to shine in the darkest places.
\nThrough you, souls are washed in a downpour of graces.
\nThrough you, the Holy Spirit gives succour to the weakest souls,
\nand to the sterile a wonderful fecundity.<\/p>\n

You, O Mary, are the only hope of your children scarred by sin
\nand poisoned by its venom.
\nTo those whom the enemy has led astray in bitterness and in fear,
\nyou open the path of life and of beatitude.
\nThis is why, impelled today by the boldness that comes from the Holy Spirit,
\nand by a confidence that is altogether that of a son,
\n[and when the consecration is made by a priest<\/em>:
\nand in virtue of my priesthood,]
\nI entrust to you N. and N.,
\nand consecrate them to your pierced and immaculate Heart.<\/p>\n

Show yourself the Mother of mercy.
\nShow yourself our all-powerful Queen,
\nfor there is nothing that resists your supplication
\nin the presence of Jesus, the King of Love.
\nMediatrix of all graces,
\nsave these souls from the tentacles of evil.
\nHeal them, even in those secret and painful wounds,
\nthat only your most gentle motherly hand can touch
\nwithout adding to their pain.<\/p>\n

From this moment on,
\nthese souls are consecrated entirely to you.
\nDo for them whatsoever your maternal Heart will suggest.
\nPurify them in the Precious Blood of your Jesus, the Lamb without stain,
\nso that now, and even unto the ages of ages,
\nthey may live for the praise of the glory
\nof the Father + and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tr\u00e8s sainte Vierge Marie,
\n— toi que le P\u00c8RE a pr\u00e9serv\u00e9e d\u00e8s le premier instant de ta conception
\nde tout mal et de la moindre ombre du p\u00e9ch\u00e9,
\n— toi que le Pr\u00e9cieux Sang de J\u00c9SUS a rendu immacul\u00e9e et toute belle,
\navant m\u00eame d’avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9 dans ton sein virginal
\net r\u00e9pandu sur l’autel de la Croix,
\n— toi que l’ESPRIT SAINT a combl\u00e9e de toute gr\u00e2ce
\nen vue de la glorieuse maternit\u00e9 du Fils de Dieu

\nla gu\u00e9rison des \u00e2mes bless\u00e9es,
\net la sanctification des \u00e2mes qui ont souffert les pires ravages du mal.
\nTu n’as qu’\u00e0 ouvrir tes mains immacul\u00e9es au-dessus d’elles,
\net elles sont p\u00e9n\u00e9tr\u00e9es par les dards de ta puret\u00e9.
\nPar toi, entre la lumi\u00e8re pour briller dans les lieux les plus obscurs.
\nPar toi, les \u00e2mes sont lav\u00e9es dans une pluie de gr\u00e2ces.
\nPar toi, l’Esprit Saint vient au secours des plus faibles,
\net donne aux st\u00e9riles une merveilleuse f\u00e9condit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Toi, \u00f4 Marie,
\ntu es l’unique esp\u00e9rance de tes enfants meurtris par le p\u00e9ch\u00e9

\nAgis en Reine toute-puissante,
\ncar rien ne peut r\u00e9sister \u00e0 ta supplication aupr\u00e8s de J\u00e9sus, le Roi d’Amour.
\nM\u00e9diatrice de toutes gr\u00e2ces,
\nsauve ces \u00e2mes de l’emprise du mal.
\nGu\u00e9ris-les jusque dans ces blessures secr\u00e8tes et douloureuses
\nque seule ta main tr\u00e8s douce de M\u00e8re peut toucher
\nsans augmenter la souffrance.<\/p>\n

\nces \u00e2mes te sont enti\u00e8rement consacr\u00e9es.
\nFais pour elles tout ce que ton C\u0153ur maternel te dira.
