\nThink of Mary, call upon Mary.<\/em>
\nCollect<\/strong>
\nGrant, we beseech you, almighty God,
\nthat to all who are celebrating her glorious name,
\nthe Blessed Virgin Mary herself
\nmay dispense the benefits of your mercy.
\nThrough our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
\nwho lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
\nGod, forever and ever.
\nGeneral Intercessions<\/strong>
\nThat the pilgrim Church,
\nfaithful to the invocation of the Most Holy Name of Mary,
\nmay find in her a shining star,
\na refuge in time of distress,
\nand a mother quick to help in every need,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
\nThat, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
\nthe world may be spared further war, violence, and bloodshed
\nand the leaders of nations moved to persevere in seeking a lasting peace,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
\nThat those who struggle on the stormy seas of life
\nmay look to Mary as to their star, and so avert shipwreck;
\nthat those who are tossed on the winds of temptation,
\nmay call on Mary and be comforted in their weakness;
\nand that the dying may find in the Holy Name of Mary
\nlight and peace,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
\nThat all who bear the sweet name of Mary
\nmay be inwardly conformed to her virtues
\nand, at every moment, honour the name
\nthat fills heaven and earth with gladness,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
\nThat all who invoke the Holy Name of Mary
\nmay experience her nearness now and at the hour of death;
\nand that the praise of God may never depart
\nfrom the lips of those who celebrate her Name today,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
\nCollect at the General Intercessions<\/strong>
\nAlmighty and ever-living God,
\nwho, in the Blessed Virgin Mary,
\nwere pleased to give us a star
\nshining over life’s vast and stormy sea;
\nmercifully grant that when the winds of temptation arise
\nand we run upon the rocks of tribulation,
\nwe may with confidence look at that star,
\nthink of Mary, and call on her by name,
\nand so learn, with all the saints,
\nhow rightly it is said that “the Virgin’s name was Mary.”
