Dt 8:15-16).<\/p>\n<p>Remember, and out of your remembering<br \/>\ngive voice to the great thanksgiving<br \/>\nthat is what we have in common &#8212; O joy! &#8212; with all the saints.<br \/>\nRemember the sustenance in full ears of wheat, his gift to you.<br \/>\nRemember the honey dripping from the rock to your heart&#8217;s content (cf. Ps. 80:17).<\/p>\n<p>Remember, and out of your remembering<br \/>\nlet praises spring high and sweet and clear.<br \/>\nPraises to fill full the church, but even that is not enough.<br \/>\nPraises pouring out the doors,<br \/>\npraises streaming in procession,<br \/>\ntouching every blade of grass and every leaf.<br \/>\nPraises stretching into the vastness of the sky overhead,<br \/>\npraises sinking deep into the earth,<br \/>\npraises sent like sparks to the East and to the West, to the North and to the South,<br \/>\npraises to inflame the cosmos with Eucharistic fire.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, Mother Church, the holy and venerable hands,<br \/>\nthe hands that, taking bread, broke and gave it,<br \/>\nthe hands that have strengthened the bolts of your gates,<br \/>\nthe hands that blessed your children within you (cf. Ps 147:12).<br \/>\nRemember the voice of him whose word runs swiftly,<br \/>\nblessing and saying, \u201cTake and eat, this is my Body\u201d;<br \/>\n\u201cThis chalice is the new testament in my Blood\u201d (cf. 1 Cor 11:24-25).<\/p>\n<p>Remember the Crucified, the Risen One, the Lord of glory<br \/>\nwhose Face alone plants peace in your borders,<br \/>\nwhose Heart would save your souls from death,<br \/>\nand feed you in time of famine (cf. Ps 32:19).<br \/>\nRemember his hands, his Face, and his Heart,<br \/>\nremember his words on the night before he suffered,<br \/>\nand out of your remembering, let praise come to flower on your lips.<br \/>\nPraise to fill that Upper Room,<br \/>\npraise to fill the Church,<br \/>\npraise to fall like a balm on every heart that has forgotten<br \/>\nthe language of the Great Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p>Remember the chalice of blessing<br \/>\nand adore the Blood of Christ.<br \/>\nRemember the bread laid bare upon the fair linen<br \/>\nRemember the one Bread by which we, though many, are made one (cf. 1 Cor 10:16-17).<br \/>\nRemember the chalice of the Blood<br \/>\nin which every tear of yours dissolves into joy.<br \/>\nRemember the broken Bread by which every brokenness of yours is made whole.<br \/>\nRemember the chalice offered to those who have nothing to offer.<br \/>\nRemember the Bread given to those who have nothing to give.<br \/>\nRemember, and into your remembering<br \/>\nwelcome the immensity of a silence that seeks only to adore.<br \/>\n<em>Tacere et adorare!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Adoring silence: liturgy of the angels, language of the prophets, poem of the saints.<br \/>\nAdoring silence: Eucharistic amazement too deep, too wide, too high for words.<br \/>\nAdoring silence spread like a mantle over the sighs and groans of a world<br \/>\nthat has forgotten to be still in the presence of the Word.<br \/>\nAdoring silence, well-kept secret of a ceaseless jubilation.<br \/>\nAdoring silence, hidden from the learned and the clever.<br \/>\nAdoring silence cherished by the little ones.<br \/>\n\u201cYes, Father, for such is Thy gracious will\u201d (cf. Lk 10:21).<\/p>\n<p>Remember the living Bread which came down from heaven<br \/>\nand eating that Bread, be assumed even now into future glory.<br \/>\nRemember the Flesh of the Word given<br \/>\nin a mystery of word and Spirit, handed over in the Upper Room<br \/>\nRemember the Flesh of the Word lifted to the Father from the altar of the Cross.<br \/>\nRemember the Flesh of the Word drawing all flesh to itself<br \/>\ndivine Flesh for the children of Adam,<br \/>\nhealing Flesh for Eve\u2019s sorrowing children,<br \/>\nGod\u2019s very Flesh for the life of the world.<br \/>\nRemember, and adore.<\/p>\n<p>Remember the chalice that flows and overflows,<br \/>\nthe chalice of salvation, the cup of your surpassing joy.<br \/>\nRemember the Blood gushing with the water<br \/>\nfrom the Open Side.<br \/>\nRemember the Heart\u2019s Blood that to your hearts carries life.<br \/>\nRemember the Chalice that leaves on every tongue the taste of eternity,<br \/>\nand on your lips the lingering sweetness of the Kiss of the Mouth of God.<br \/>\nRemember the fire-filled Chalice,<br \/>\nthe Chalice spilling Spirit into every open mouth.<\/p>\n<p>Remember Him on whom you feed;<br \/>\nsee him held before your eyes,<br \/>\nraised to the Father in the Holy Spirit,<br \/>\nheld out to you, his hunger meeting yours.<br \/>\nRemember, and pronounce the \u201cAmen\u201d for which he waits.<br \/>\nThe Amen of your wonder,<br \/>\nthe Amen of your joy,<br \/>\nthe Amen of your adoring silence.<br \/>\nAnd listen closely.<br \/>\nTo that Amen of yours the Angels add their Alleluia.<br \/>\nAmen, Alleluia.<\/p>\n<p>O Eucharistic adoration of heaven and of earth!<br \/>\nAmen, Alleluia.<br \/>\nSaying all that can be said.<br \/>\nAmen, Alleluia.<br \/>\nO Eucharistic song!<br \/>\nAmen, Alleluia.<br \/>\nSong of angels praising<br \/>\nand of archangels shining together with thrones;<br \/>\nsong of dominations bowing low,<br \/>\nand of the awestruck powers;<br \/>\nsong of the incandescent seraphim,<br \/>\nand of the heavenly hosts of every rank adoring.<br \/>\nAmen, Alleluia.<\/p>\n<p>Song of the Church today.<br \/>\nSong of the saints dazzling with Christ-Beauty,<br \/>\nsong of the least of his brethren<br \/>\nsummoned today to stand in his presence,<br \/>\ndriven by the Spirit to walk before him,<br \/>\ncompelled by love to kneel and to adore.<br \/>\n<em>Corpus Christi<\/em>.
