Let your gentleness be known to everyone.  The Lord is at hand.  Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer let your petitions be made known to God (Phil 4:4-6).<br \/>\nCOLLECT<br \/>\nO God, who hast set Thine eyes upon Thy people<br \/>\nas they await in faith the festival of the birth of the Lord;<br \/>\ngrant, we beseech Thee,<br \/>\nthat we may arrive at the joys of so great a salvation<br \/>\nto celebrate them with solemn worship<br \/>\nand an ever lively gladness.<br \/>\nThrough our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son,<br \/>\nwho liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit,<br \/>\nGod, forever and ever.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nGENERAL INTERCESSIONS<br \/>\nThat the Church may be seen by all nations<br \/>\nas the dwelling-place of Wisdom,<br \/>\nteaching the way of prudence in every age<br \/>\nwith the sweetness and vigor of the Holy Spirit,<br \/>\nlet us pray in silence \u2014 for the Lord is near.  (Pause for silence.)<br \/>\nThat Holy Wisdom may descend into every war-torn place<br \/>\nto enlighten the minds of world leaders with  prudence,<br \/>\nand set their feet on the way to peace,<br \/>\nlet us pray in silence \u2014 for the Lord is near.  (Pause for silence.)<br \/>\nThat those for whom life is bitter<br \/>\nmay taste of Wisdom&rsquo;s sweetness;<br \/>\nthat those who dwell in darkness<br \/>\nmay be drawn into the radiance of her light;<br \/>\nand that those her suffer<br \/>\nmay partake of her constancy,<br \/>\nlet us pray in silence \u2014 for the Lord is near.  (Pause for silence.)<br \/>\nThat, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary,<br \/>\nthose whose lives are marked by great sorrows<br \/>\nmay learn how to welcome the Advent of Joy,<br \/>\nlet us pray in silence \u2014 for the Lord is near.
