\nToday’s stational church is the home of my own monastic community, Santa Croce in Gerusalemme<\/em>. Santa Croce<\/em> is Jerusalem\u2013in\u2013Rome: the image of the ancient Jerusalem that is the Mother Church; of the Catholic Church that is the Jerusalem open to all peoples; of the interior Jerusalem of the soul; and of the heavenly Jerusalem, the object of all our longings.

\nPeople of Sion, behold the Lord shall come for the saving of the nations; and the Lord shall make heard the glory of His voice in the joy of your heart (Is 30: 19, 30). V. O shepherd of Israel, hear us; You Who lead Joseph like a flock (Ps 79:2).
\nCOLLECT
\nAlmighty and merciful God,
\nlet no works of worldly impulse
\nimpede those who are hastening to meet Your Son,
\nbut rather, may the teachings of heavenly wisdom
\nmake us the companions of Him Who lives and reigns with You
\nin the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.<\/p>\n


\nGENERAL INTERCESSIONS
\nFor the holy Church of God, the new Eve;
\nthat she may put on forever the beauty of the glory from God
\nand gather to herself children from East and from West,
\nlet us pray in silence \u2014 for the Lord is near. (Pause for silence.)
\nFor the leaders of nations and all public servants;
\nthat, gifted with knowledge and all discernment,
\nthey may approve what is excellent
\nand protect what is good,
\nlet us pray in silence \u2014 for the Lord is near. (Pause for silence.)
\nFor those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit,
\nand for those who are clothed in the garments of sorrow and affliction;
\nthat the glorious Advent of Jesus Christ
\nmay fill them with joy and with the promise of unfading beauty,
\nlet us pray in silence \u2014 for the Lord is near. (Pause for silence.)
\nFor the Roman community of the Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem
\nand for ourselves;
\nthat we may walk safely on level ground
\nin the light of the glory of God,
\nand the shade of the fragrant tree of the Cross,
\nlet us pray in silence \u2014 for the Lord is near. (Pause for silence.)
\nCOLLECT AT THE GENERAL INTERCESSIONS
\nO God of beauty and of glory,
\nWho wonderfully created the first Adam, clothing him in light,
\nand more wonderfully still clothed the new Adam
\nin the imperishable splendour of the resurrection;
\nmercifully grant that we, exiled children of Eve,
\nmake take off the robe of mourning and misery
\nto be wrapped in the cloak of justice,
\nand be found pure and blameless for the Day of Christ
\nWho is Lord forever and ever.

\nTruly it is right and just, our duty and our salvation,
\nalways and everywhere to give You thanks,
\nLord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
\nthrough Christ our Lord.
\nWho in His first advent, having taken on the lowliness of our flesh,
\naccomplished the work You proposed long ago
\nand opened for us the way of eternal salvation;
\nso that when He comes again in the glory of His majesty
\nwe may behold at last completed
\nthe promised work for which we now keep watch and dare to hope.
\nAnd so with Angels and Archangels.
\nwith Thrones and Dominations,
\nand with all the powers of heaven,
