\nThe Lord saw two brothers along the sea of Galilee,
\nPeter and Andrew, and he called to them:
\nCome after me, and I will make you fishers of men (Mt 4:18-19).<\/p>\n

COLLECT
\nWe humbly entreat your majesty, O Lord,
\nthat the blessed apostle Andrew
\nmay be as constant an intercessor for us in your presence
\nas he was outstanding in preaching and in ruling over your Church.
\nThrough our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
\nwho lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
\nGod forever and ever.<\/p>\n

GENERAL INTERCESSIONS
\nFor the holy Church of Constantinople;
\nthat she may hold fast to the Gospel received from Saint Andrew
\nand, helped by his intercession,
\ndemonstrate to all the churches the wondrous power of the Cross,

For our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI;
\nthat during his apostolic journey to Turkey,
\nhe may be preserved from all danger

For the six monasteries of the Benedictines of Jesus Crucified,
\nfor their oblates and their friends;
\nthat they may continue to find in Saint Andrew
\na powerful witness to the joy that comes from the Cross,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.<\/p>\n

\nAlmighty God,
\nwho gave such grace to your apostle Andrew
\nthat he readily obeyed the call of your only-begotten Son,
\nand brought his brother with him:
\ngive us who are called by your holy Word,
\ngrace to follow Him without delay,
\nand to bring those near to us
\ninto the gracious presence of the Lamb,
\nyour Christ who is Lord forever and ever.<\/p>\n

PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS
\nWe bring these gifts to you, almighty God,
\non this feast of Saint Andrew;
\ngrant that we, by offering them, may please you,
\nand by your acceptance of them, be given life.
\nThrough Christ our Lord.<\/p>\n

PREFACE
\nIt is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
\nalways, here and everywhere to give you thanks,
\nLord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God.
\nIn this great mystery of our salvation
\nwe celebrate today Saint Andrew,
\nwho by his preaching of Christ, your Son,
\nand by the witness of his martyrdom,
\nshowed himself a true brother to your apostle Saint Peter
\nand shared in the suffering and the glory
\nof all those called by Christ as his apostles.
\nAnd so, on his feastday we join with him to adore you
\nand in the company of angels and saints
\nwith whom he shares the vision of your glory
\nwe proclaim your majesty in their joyful hymn of praise:<\/p>\n

COMMUNION ANTIPHON
\nAndrew said to Simon his brother:
\nWe have found the Messiah, called the Christ.
\nAnd he brought him to Jesus (Jn 1:41-42).|<\/p>\n

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
\nMay the communion of your sacraments strengthen us, Lord,
\nso that, following the example of Saint Andrew the Apostle,
\nwe may carry within ourselves the dying of Christ,
\nand so be found worthy of life with him in glory.
