\nPope Benedict XVI will be celebrating Holy Mass today in a open place adjacent to the shrine of the Holy House of Mother Mary<\/a><\/em> near Ephesus. Archbishop Marini’s presentation<\/a> suggests that the Mass will be that of the Commendatio Beatae Mariae Virginis<\/em>, # 13 in the Collectio Missarum de Beata Maria Virgine<\/em>. Here follows my own translation of the texts:
\nENTRANCE ANTIPHON
\nMR
\nThe Lord is high above all nations;
\nand his glory above the heavens.
\nWho makes the Blessed Virgin to dwell in the Church,
\nthe joyful mother of children (cf. Ps 112:4, 9).
\nCOLLECT
\nLord, Holy Father,
\nwho decreed the salvation of the human race
\nin the Paschal Mystery,
\ngrant that we whom Jesus Christ dying upon the cross
\nentrusted to his Virgin Mother
\nmay be numbered among your adopted sons.
\nThrough the same our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
\nwho lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
\nGod, forever and ever.<\/p>\n


\nGENERAL INTERCESSIONS
\nThat Catholic and Orthodox Christians in every place
\nmay imitate the obedience of Saint John to Jesus Crucified
\nby taking His All-Holy Mother into their hearts and into their homes,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
\nThat Pope Benedict XVI
\nmay be preserved from every danger,
\ntoday and all the days of his life,
\nbeneath the protecting mantle of the Holy Mother of God,

\nThat in the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary
\nthe lonely may find companionship,
\nthe weak, strength,
\nthe sick, healing,

\nThat the Blessed Virgin Mary may be accepted more and more
\nas the Reconciler of Peoples,

\nmercifully grant that we, like Saint John,
\nmake so take her into our lives
\nas to make of our dwellings houses of Mary
\nand tabernacles of adoration in spirit and in truth.

\nOFFERTORY ANTIPHON

\nBe mindful, O Virgin Mother of God,
\nwhen you stand in the sight of the Lord,
\nto speak good things for us,
\nand to turn away his wrath from us (cf. Jer 18:20).
\nPRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS
\nReceive, O Lord, these gifts joyfully offered
\nthat they may become the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ
\nwho, being nailed to the wood of the cross
\nentrusted, in John, all his disciples as sons to the Virgin
\nand elected them as the vicars of his love towards his Mother.
\nWho lives and reigns forever and ever.
\nPREFACE
\nIt is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
\nalways and everywhere to give You thanks,
\nLord, Holy Father, almighty and eternal God:
\nFor at the foot of the cross of Jesus,
\nby His own sacred testament,
\nan intimate bond of love was forged
\nbetween the Blessed Virgin and His faithful disciples:
\nthe mother is entrusted to the disciples as their mother,
\nand the disciples receive the Mother
\nas the Master’s precious inheritance.
\nShe is to be for all ages the mother of believers,
\nand they at all times will fly to her full of assurance.
\nShe, in loving them, loves the Son,
\nand they, in listening to the counsels of the Mother,
\nkeep the words of the Master.
\nThrough Whom the hosts of Angels adore Your majesty,
\nrejoicing eternally before Your face.
\nWe pray You, let our voices be heard with theirs,
\nas we sing with joyful praise:
