\nI remember today Sister Marie\u2013Willibrorda, O.S.B. of the Monastère Saint\u2013Joseph<\/a> in France and my friends, the Poor Clare nuns of Eindhoven<\/a> in the Netherlands.<\/em>
\nENTRANCE ANTIPHON
\nGR
\nLet your priests, O Lord, be clothed with justice,
\nand let your saints rejoice:
\nfor your servant David’s sake,
\nturn not away the face of your Christ (Ps 131:9-10).
\nPs. O Lord, remember David, and all his meekness (Ps 131:1).
\nCOLLECT
\nO God, the Saviour of all,
\nwho sent your bishop Willibrord as a pilgrim for Christ
\nto proclaim the good news to many peoples
\nand confirm them in their faith,
\nhelp us also, we beseech you,
\nto witness to your steadfast love by word and deed
\nso that your Church may increase and grow strong in holiness.
\nThrough our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
\nwho lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
\nGod, forever and ever.<\/p>\n


\nGENERAL INTERCESSIONS
\nFor the Church in Holland and throughout the world;
\nthat she may rejoice in the harvest sown
\nby Saint Willibrord and by all those who, like him,
\nconsider everything as loss for the sake of Christ,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
\nFor the leaders of Europe and of all nations;
\nthat they may open their eyes
\nto the wisdom and light of the Gospel,
\nand so set their feet on the road to peace,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
\nFor those who have suffered the loss
\nof family, homeland, language, and culture;
\nfor those mourning the death of loved ones;
\nand for those grieving the loss of things precious and dear to them;
\nthat they may be granted the supreme good of knowing Christ
\nin whom every loss is gain,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.
\nFor this monastery and for its friends and oblates;
\nthat, called to be missionaries of the new evangelization,
\nwe may be filled with the knowledge of Christ
\nand spread it, according to the gifts we have received,

\nwho call whom you will and send them where you choose,
\nwe thank you for sending Saint Willibrord
\nto be an apostle to the Low Countries,

\nfrom the temptation to exchange the perfect freedom of your service for servitude to false gods and to idols of our own devising.

\nMy truth and my mercy shall be with him:
\nand in my name shall his horn be exalted (Ps 88:25).

\nLook upon the gifts we offer,
\nAlmighty God,
\non this feast of Saint Willibrord,
\nand grant that, as we celebrate
\nthe mysteries of the Passion of the Lord,
\nwe may imitate what we enact.
\nThrough Christ our Lord.
\nPREFACE
\nIt is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
\nalways, here and everywhere to give you thanks,
\nLord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
\nthrough Christ our Lord.
\nChrist has never ceased to call his disciples;
\nhe sends them out to bring salvation to the nations
\nby the light of the Gospel.
\nFor this work, Saint Willibrord was set apart by the Spirit;
\nin faith and obedience he went to peoples far away.
\nYou called him to be all things to everyone
\nas a minister of your word, O most High,
\nso that in your sight the nations might become
\na holy sacrifice acceptable to you.
\nAnd so, with him, and all your saints
\nwe join to sing of your great glory
\nin this, their joyful hymn of praise:

\nBlessed is that servant
\nwho is found on the watch when his lord comes:
\nAmen, I say to you,
\nhe will set him over all his goods (Mt 24:46-47).

\nstrengthen the faith of your servants in the truth,
\nthat, in word and in deed,
\nthey may everywhere confess the faith
\nfor which Saint Willibrord ceaselessly laboured
\nand spent his very life.
