ENTRANCE ANTIPHON
\nMR
\nI will visit my sheep,
\nand I will set up one shepherd over them
\nand he shall feed them,
\nand I the Lord will be their God (cf. Ez 34:11, 23-24).<\/p>\n

COLLECT
\nPreserve in your people, we beseech you, Lord,
\nthe spirit with which you filled the bishop Saint Charles;
\nthat the Church may be ceaselessly renewed,
\nand in conforming herself to the image of Christ,
\nbe able to show his face to the world.
\nThrough our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
\nwho lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

\nThat the Church in Milan and throughout the world

PREFACE
\nIt is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
\nalways and everywhere to give you thanks,
\nLord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
\nin this commemoration of your bishop Saint Charles
\nwhose ministry you have so gloriously rewarded.
\nYou gave him to the Church as a vigilant pastor,
\na lamp shining your light in the darkness of this world,
\na priest fired by the immensity of Christ\u2019s love;
\na mirror of strength, a pattern of justice for the flock.
\nBy your generous gift he led your sheep
\nwith diligent care safely to the sheepfold,
\nand in days of trial an danger
\nsustained them with zeal and love.
\nAs we recall with admiration the life and works of this generous bishop,
