Parsch described the glory of First Vespers of All Saints with reliquaries glistening on the altar amidst clouds of incense: a foretaste of the liturgy of heaven.<br \/>\nLater on, in Blessed Abbot Marmion&#8217;s book, <u>Christ in His Mysteries<\/u>, I read the chapter entitled, &#8220;Christ the Crown of All the Saints.&#8221;  Listen to what Dom Marmion says:  &#8220;When we celebrate the Feast of All Saints, we ought to repeat to ourselves the words that St. Augustine heard: Cur non poteris quod isti, quod istae?  What reasons have we for not tending to holiness?  Oh, I know well what each one is tempted to say: &#8216;I have such or such a difficulty, I have such or such a trial to contend with, I cannot become saint.&#8217;  But be sure that all the saints have met with such difficulties, such trials, and much greater ones than yours.  Thus then none can say, &#8216;Holiness is not for me.'&#8221;  <\/em><br \/>\nENTRANCE ANTIPHON<br \/>\nGR<br \/>\nLet us all rejoice in the Lord,<br \/>\ncelebrating a festival day in honour of all the Saints:<br \/>\nat whose solemnity the Angels rejoice,<br \/>\nand give praise to the Son of God.<br \/>\nV.  Rejoice in the Lord, you just:<br \/>\npraise befits the upright (Ps 32:1).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nCOLLECT<br \/>\nAlmighty and ever-living God<br \/>\nby whose gift we celebrate the triumph of your grace<br \/>\nin all the saints,<br \/>\ngrant, that with so vast a multitude interceding for us,<br \/>\nwe may receive from you<br \/>\nthe abundance of mercy we have always desired.<br \/>\nThrough our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,<br \/>\nwho lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,<br \/>\nGod, forever and ever.<br \/>\nGENERAL INTERCESSIONS<br \/>\nThat the pilgrim people who long to see the face of God,<br \/>\nmay rejoice, even as they journey,<br \/>\nin the abiding presence of Christ<br \/>\nin the mystery of the Most Holy Eucharist,<br \/>\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.<br \/>\nThat we who are called to live in the light<br \/>\nmay find in the Most Holy Eucharist<br \/>\nthe dawn of heaven&rsquo;s lasting brightness<br \/>\nand the radiance of the Lamb who was slain,<br \/>\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.<br \/>\nCOLLECT AT THE GENERAL INTERCESSIONS<br \/>\nAlmighty and merciful God,<br \/>\nwho have knit together your elect<br \/>\nin the communion of the Holy Spirit<br \/>\nand in the Mystical Body of your Son,<br \/>\nour Saviour, Jesus Christ;<br \/>\ngrant us grace so to follow your blessed saints<br \/>\nin seeking always the light of His Face<br \/>\nthat we may come to those inexpressible joys<br \/>\nthat you have prepared for those who truly love you.<br \/>\nThrough the same Christ our Lord.<br \/>\nOFFERTORY ANTIPHON<br \/>\nGR<br \/>\nThe souls of the just are in the hand of God,<br \/>\nand the torment of malice shall not touch them:<br \/>\nin thesight of the unwise they seemed to die,<br \/>\nbut they are in peace.
