I returned last night from the Heaven on Earth Conference<\/em> held at the Liturgical Institute at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois. It was a wonderful experience. I rejoiced in the presence of priests zealous for the beauty of the House of the Lord and in the participation of brilliant young Catholic architects, many of them from the University of Notre Dame.<\/p>\n

<\/em>\"1028stjudasthaddaeus.jpg\"<\/em>Before doing anything else today, I want to post the Propers for the feast of Saints Simon and Jude, Apostles. The painting of Saint Jude is found in a votive chapel dedicated to the Apostle in the Kirche St. Judas Thadd\u00e4us in Heisterbacherrott, Germany.

\nENTRANCE ANTIPHON
\nMR
\nThese are holy men
\nchosen by the Lord for their unfeigned charity;
\nto them he gave everlasting glory.<\/p>\n

COLLECT
\nO God, who,
\nthrough your holy Apostles,
\ngranted that we should come to the knowledge of your Name;
\nat the intercession of Saints Simon and Jude,
\ngraciously give constant growth to your Church
\nby the increase of peoples who believe.
\nThrough our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
\nwho lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
\nGod, forever and ever.<\/p>\n

GENERAL INTERCESSIONS
\nThat the Church, founded upon the faith of the Apostles,
\nmay be renewed in missionary zeal
\nand, ever more faithfully,
\ncarry the Face of Christ to those who long for healing and hope,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.<\/p>\n

That the leaders of nations
\nmay be preserved from greed and the abuse of power,
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.<\/p>\n

That, through the intercession of Saint Jude,
\nthose who find themselves in apparently hopeless situations
\nmay find comfort in the prayer of faith;
\nand that the homeless and the unemployed
\nmay be given relief with dignity;
\nto the Lord we pray: Christ, hear us. R. CHRIST, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.<\/p>\n

That we, by loving Christ and keeping his word,
\nmay rejoice in the fulfillment of his promise to Saint Jude:
\nthe joy of the indwelling presence of the Father and the Son,
