\nThese are they who are come out of great tribulation
\nand have washed their robes

\nThe blood of the holy martyrs
\nwas poured out upon the earth for Christ;
\ntherefore they have won rewards everlasting.

\nof Saints John, Isaac, and their companions,
\nand by the outpouring of their blood,
\nwilled to manifest the blessed hope of your eternal kingdom,
\nmercifully grant through their intercession,
\nthat, in our own day,

\nmay rejoice today in the harvest of holiness
\nsown by the shedding of their blood for Christ,

\nThat our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI,
\nmay be comforted by the Holy Spirit,
\nand mightily protected from the hands of his enemies,

\nThat the Church may not waver in her service
\nof the poor, the sick, and the uneducated
\nnor forsake immigrants in their spiritual and temporal need,

\nmay find in the Holy Martyrs of North America

\nand as a victim of a holocaust he received them (Wis 3:6).

\nLook graciously, Almighty God,
\nupon the offerings of your people
\nand, through the intercession of your blessed martyrs,
\nlet us become a sacrifice pleasing to you
\nfor the salvation of the whole world

\nPREFACE
\nIt is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
\nalways and everywhere to give you thanks,
\nLord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
\nthrough Christ our Lord.
\nAs we celebrate the feast of your martyrs
\nJohn de Brébeuf, Isaac Jogues and their companions;
\nwe praise Christ, who kindles the fire of love
\nin the heart of his faithful servants,
\nso that they renounce the honours of this world
\nand by martyrdom take their place amid the citizens of heaven.
\nBy their sufferings your Church is made holy and glorious
\nand placed with Christ at your right hand.
\nHer joy and radiance is the prayer of her martyrs,
\npersecuted in this world,
\nwhom she presents to you
\nas the firstfruits of the world to come.
\nAnd so, through the heavens and the earth
\nall things adore you and sing a new song;
