It is merely the fruit of <em>lectio divina<\/em> shared in the literary form of the Preface of the Mass.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vultuschristi.org\/Eucharistic%20Dove.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Eucharistic%20Dove.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vultuschristi.org\/Eucharistic%20Dove-thumb.jpg?resize=211%2C150&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"211\" height=\"150\"style=\"float:right; margin-left: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nIt is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,<br \/>\nalways and everywhere to give you thanks,<br \/>\nLord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,<br \/>\nthrough Christ our Lord.<br \/>\nIn the beginning,<br \/>\nwhen you created the heavens and the earth,<br \/>\nyour Spirit swept over the waters (Gen 1:1-2);<br \/>\nand when you formed man from the dust of the earth<br \/>\nyou gave him life with the very Breath of your mouth (Gen 2:7).<br \/>\nIn the fullness of time you sent your Son (Gal 4:4)<br \/>\nto restore the work of your hands to the splendour of holiness<br \/>\nby the power of the Holy Spirit.<br \/>\nWhen the hour came for him to be glorified by you (Jn 17:1),<br \/>\nhe bowed his head and breathed forth his Spirit (Jn 19:30),<br \/>\ngiving life to the Church.<br \/>\nOn the first day of the week, the day of his resurrection,<br \/>\nhe stood in the midst of his disciples,<br \/>\nbreathed on them, and gave them the Holy Spirit (Jn 20:22).<br \/>\nFinally, when the day of Pentecost had come (Ac 2:1),<br \/>\nin the signs of a mighty wind and tongues of fire (Ac 2:2-3),<br \/>\nyour Spirit descended upon the Church,<br \/>\ndrawing her together in unity<br \/>\nand sending her forth to preach the Gospel.<br \/>\nMoved by the Holy Spirit,<br \/>\nwe confess the lordship of Christ your Son (1 Cor  12:3),<br \/>\nwe rejoice to call you Father (Rom 8:15),<br \/>\nand filled with the Spirit,<br \/>\nsing to you with all our hearts (Eph 5:18-19)<br \/>\nthe song of the angels in heaven:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is not, of course, a text found in any of the editiones typicae.
